Use appropriate language and conduct that does not intimidate, harass, or offend
Refrain from discrimination or harassment on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ability, religion, national origin, socioeconomic status, or any other protected characteristic
Harassment, abuse, or disruptive behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.
Please help us maintain a positive experience for everyone by:
Arriving on time and taking your seat before the performance begins
Turning off or silencing all electronic devices
Refraining from texting, phone calls, or use of lighted screens during performances
Never recording, photographing or livestreaming performances without explicit permission
Remaining seated during the show unless in an emergency or at an appropriate break
Your safety and comfort are priorities at TCR:
Please follow all instructions from TCR staff, ushers, and safety personnel
Accessibility seating and services are provided to support all patrons — let us know if you need assistance
Service animals are welcome in accordance with ADA guidelines
Weapons, illegal substances, fireworks, open flames, and other hazardous items are prohibited on TCR property

Children attending performances must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children’s behavior and ensuring they adhere to this Code of Conduct.
If a patron’s behavior interferes with the safety or enjoyment of others, TCR staff may:
Issue a warning
Ask the individual to relocate or exit the venue
Remove the person from the premises
Contact law enforcement if necessary
In some cases, repeat or serious offenses may result in loss of ticket privileges or denial of future entry.
If you observe or experience behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please notify the nearest TCR staff member or contact the Box Office at 319-366-8591. All reports will be treated with seriousness and discretion.

To help clarify expectations, the following terms are used throughout Theatre Cedar Rapids’ Code of Conduct:
Unwelcome verbal, nonverbal, or physical behavior that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment for another person. This includes repeated unwanted comments, gestures, jokes, physical contact, or attention directed at an individual or group.
Unfair or unequal treatment of an individual or group based on race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability, socioeconomic status, or any other protected characteristic.
Actions that interfere with the experience of others or the ability of artists and staff to perform their work. Examples may include loud talking during a performance, using electronic devices, repeated late arrivals, intoxication, aggressive conduct, or failure to follow staff instructions.
Speech or actions that demean, threaten, or target individuals or groups based on protected characteristics. Hate speech is not tolerated at Theatre Cedar Rapids.
Verbal or physical actions that cause others to fear for their safety or well-being, including threats, aggressive posturing, or hostile gestures.
Any negative action taken against a person for reporting a concern or participating in an investigation related to this Code of Conduct. Retaliation is not permitted.
Clear, voluntary, and ongoing agreement to engage in interaction or physical contact. Consent may be withdrawn at any time and must always be respected.
