Production Schedules at a Glance
While every show is a little different, these are typical time commitments:
TCR Auditorium Productions
Rehearsal Process: Typically 8–10 weeks
Performances: 18–20 performances across 4–6 weeks
Grandon Studio Theatre Productions
Rehearsal Process: Typically 4–6 weeks
Performances: 15–18 performances across 4–5 weeks
Rehearsal Schedule
Rehearsals are typically held 5 times per week during evenings and weekends. Nominal conflicts are generally accommodated if they are disclosed at the time of auditions.
Full technical rehearsals are typically 1–2 weekend days and may run 8–10 hours, with lunch and dinner breaks (meals provided). Conflicts are generally not allowed as the production moves toward tech and dress rehearsals. With very few rare exceptions, performance conflicts are not allowed.
Exact schedules vary by production and will be shared after the casting process.
Honoraria
To recognize the time and commitment required to produce theatre at a high level, Theatre Cedar Rapids offers honoraria for cast and crew members age 16 and older.
Cast: $25 per performance
Crew: $20 per performance

Casting at TCR
TCR casts, crews, and creative teams primarily come from our regional community. Most productions are non-union, and we welcome performers of varied experience levels.
