A T-coil induction hearing loop is installed in the TCR auditorium and is available for use in all seating areas. Patrons with compatible hearing aids or cochlear implants may connect directly to the system for enhanced sound clarity. Installation of the hearing loop was made possible through the generous support of Myron and Esther Wilson.

For guests who do not use a T-coil device, a limited number of assistive listening receivers are available at no cost on a first-come, first-served basis. Devices may be requested at the will call window prior to the performance.

Theatre Cedar Rapids proudly supports our deaf and hard-of-hearing community by offering live American Sign Language interpretation for select auditorium performances each season.

When purchasing tickets online, look for the sign language icon to identify interpreted performances. To ensure the best seating and sightline options, we encourage patrons to reserve tickets in advance for ASL-interpreted shows. You may also contact the box office at 319-366-8591 for assistance in selecting the best viewing location.

Patrons who benefit from reading along or reviewing the script in advance are welcome to request a script from the box office. Scripts may be checked out for up to three days and require a valid ticket for the corresponding performance.

Availability is limited, so we recommend contacting the box office ahead of your visit to confirm access and make arrangements.

Wheelchair-accessible seating is available in both performance spaces, with six locations in the auditorium and one location in the Grandon Studio Theatre. Each space includes companion seating. To reserve accessible seating, book online selecting the wheelchair icon and companion seats marked with a "C," or contact the box office in when purchasing tickets.

Upon arrival, an automatic door is located to the right of the main entrance. Ushers are available in the lobby to assist with directions and seating as needed.

The Grandon Studio Theatre is located on the lower level and is accessible by elevator. Guests may ask an usher at the main entrance for assistance or directions to the elevator upon arrival.

Please note that the auditorium does not presently have elevator access to balcony seating. Patrons who prefer to avoid stairs are encouraged to reserve main floor seating when purchasing tickets.

Theatre is a multi-sensory experience and can be overwhelming for some patrons. We're proud to offer sensory kits at our box office to help make every performance more comfortable and accessible. Each kit includes tools like ear protection, fidgets, chewing gum, and other sensory supports to assist with sound, light, and focus. Kits can be checked out for free from the box office upon arrival or during any performance.
