The curtain is rising on a brand new chapter at Theatre Cedar Rapids, and as we step into our second century, we're thrilled to invite you back for another season of unforgettable live theatre.
The 2026-2027 season marks a wonderful miletstone for TCR. After a year of exciting progress in our historic Iowa Theatre Building, we'll be welcoming you back to beautifully refreshed spaces throughout the theatre. Auditorium renovation will be nearly complete, a brand-new elevator will expand accessibility, and we'll be reopening the newly remodeled Linge Lounge—the perfect place to gather before the show or during intermission.
Even better, we are returning to a full season of productions in both our performance spaces. Next year will feature ten shows in all—five in our mainstage auditorium and five in the Grandon Studio black box theatre—bringing you an exciting mix of beloved favorites, bold storytelling, and extraordinary local talent.
Take a look at our exciting 2026-2027 lineup below!

Grandon Studio Theatre | October 9–31
When a young girl begins to experience deeply disturbing and unexplained changes, those around her are pulled into a terrifying mystery that defies understanding. Based on William Peter Blatty's, The Exorcist, John Pielmeier's stage adaptation transforms the unsettling battles of faith versus fact and ego versus ethos into a uniquely theatrical experience as sophisticated as it is suspenseful.

Auditorium | November 13 – December 20
Cameron Mackintosh and Disney's Mary Poppins soars onto the stage in a dazzling, magical adventure. When the practically perfect Mary Poppins arrives at the Banks household, she transforms their world with wonder, wit, and unforgettable songs.

Grandon Studio Theatre | November 27 – December 20
As Ebenezer Scrooge is guided by three mysterious spirits, he confronts the choices that shaped his life. Jacqueline Goldfinger's adaptation, with familiar Christmas carols and contemporary humor, brings fresh warmth and holiday cheer to this timeless story.

Auditorium | February 12 – March 14
Mel Brooks & Thomas Meehan's outrageous musical, The Producers, is a laugh-out-loud spectacle. When a failing producer and his timid accountant plot to get rich by creating Broadway's biggest flop, their plan spirals into a hilarious disaster in this wildly irreverant comedy that celebrates failure... brilliantly.

Grandon Studio Theatre | March 5–28
In a cutthroat real estate office where only the top sellers survive, desperation pushes a group of salesmen to their limits. As pressure mounts, loyalties fracture and morality blurs in the ruthless pursuit of success. David Mamet's Pulitzer Prize-winning dark comedy is a timely portrait of ambition, power, and survival.

Auditorium | April 23 – May 23
Cameron Mackintosh presents Boublil & Schönberg's Les Misérables, an epic tale of passion, redemption, and revolution. In 19th-century France, Jean Valjean's quest is a powerful story of love, sacrifice, and hope—brought to life by one of the most iconic scores in musical theatre history.

Grandon Studio Theatre | May 7–30
Susan-Lori Parks' darkly comic, Pulitzer Prize-winning fable explores brotherhood, identity, and history's weight. Lincoln and Booth—two brothers named as a cruel joke—navigate rivalry, resentment, and uneasy dependence, haunted by the past as they face what lies ahead.

Auditorium | June 18–27
Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize-winning Our Town is a quietly cosmic meditation on existence itself—where a small town opens up into something vast and universal. Ordinary lives reveal extraordinary meaning, inviting us to pause, reflect, and truly see one another in an age moving faster than ever.

Grandon Studio Theatre | June 25 – July 18
Kate Hamill's witty adaptation of Jane Austen follows the practical Elinor and poassionate Marianne Dashwood as they navigate love and reputation after their father's death leaves them vulnerable in 18th-century England. The humorous and theatrical story explores following your heart despite societal scrutiny.

Auditorium | July 30 – August 29
Tina Fey's Mean Girls brings the hit film to life in a fierce, high-energy musical. When newcomer Cady Heron enters the cutthroat world of high school cliques, she learns popularity has a price—and taking down "The Plastics" might cost more than she bargained for.
