House Manager
Duties of the Box Office Associate:
- Customer Service
- Engage with patrons as they enter the theatre, be receptive to questions and curiosity
- Listen to and address patron issues, questions, and concerns in a friendly and efficient manner
- Establish a strong working knowledge of ADA guidelines in support of TCR’s Accessibility goals and assist in execution of accessibility events and special programs
- Work with box office staff to resolve guest ticketing issues
- Manage night-of-show staff that interacts with the guests including volunteer ushers and part-time box office staff.
- Front of House Operations
- Work with Box Office Associates, Stage Management, Production Assistants, and TCR staff to coordinate the smooth operation of the house before, during, and after events.
- Communicate with back-of-house on performance timelines including starting the performance, ending intermission, etc.
- Maintain the tidiness and accessibility of TCR spaces
- Prepare and distribute observant and detailed House Management Reports after performances, communicating any specific challenges and successes
- Supervise teams of Volunteer Ushers for the performance and communicate all pre & post performance duties and evacuation information in pre-show Usher Meeting
- Meet with Lounge Manager, Rental Coordinator, and other staff regarding specific requirements for each event
- Safety
- Ensure the safety of patrons and staff through a strong, working knowledge of TCR’s emergency procedures
- Provides leadership in emergency situations, including fire alarms and evacuations
- HM is required to be Emergency and Fire Preparedness and First Aid/CPR/AED certified
Qualifications:
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends, in particular Wednesdays – Sundays, with occasional special performances or events
- Some prior experience performing high volume customer service-related work
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Must be computer proficient, especially with a PC, Microsoft Office, and Google Drive
- Experience working in a performing arts environment or with emergency situation management are appreciated, but not necessary
- First Aid and CPR certification is a plus
BOX OFFICE ASSOCIATE
- Phone and front desk receptionist
- Ticketing associate for walk-in and phone box office inquiries
- Administrative support and data entry
- Must be able to perform door sales at events on evenings and weekends
- Work directly in ticketing system and theatre database
- Proven success in a customer service and/or sales role
- Experience with data entry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in a theatre or comparable arts organization is desirable

TCR is your community theatre, and we are proud to invite students to join our professional staff of theatre-makers and administrators by offering spring, summer, and fall internships. TCR values kindness, generosity, passion, and grace-under-pressure, and seeks interns in all areas who are eager to learn and develop their capacities as theatre and non-profit professionals.
TCR interns are paid, receive free show tickets, are invited to special events, and earn college credit (when applicable). Please see the information below for internship descriptions and deadlines, and contact Emma Drtina with any questions.
Development and Administration Intern
Theatre making doesn’t all happen on stage! Join our development and administrative teams and build invaluable relationships, learn the intricacies of fundraising, and share the story of TCR magic. This internship crosses several departments and is a fantastic way to learn how theatres operate, from development to marketing to box office. Tasks include day-to-day administrative tasks, donor engagement activities, database management, special event support.
The ideal candidate will be dynamic and detail-oriented, strong written and verbal communication skills, and an interest in building relationships. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Patron Manager a plus.

Production Intern
The wizards in the TCR production team make sure that the show always goes on. Get in on the action by working with our technical and artistic leaders on rehearsal and show execution. Tasks include day-to-day technical support (set building, painting), artistic and performer support, rehearsal preparation. Volunteer crew positions generally available outside of internship hours.
The ideal candidate will be task and detail-oriented, experience in multiple areas of theatre-making, be willing to work evenings and weekends and be ready to jump in and work in all aspects of producing to make a show happen

Education Intern
Camps and classes are a cornerstone of TCR’s work in the community. Join the education team in the planning and execution of classes, marketing, and execute one of the most inspiring missions: where people learn to love theatre, right here at TCR. Tasks include class and camp preparation, administrative support, classroom support, registration leadership
The ideal candidate: This people-oriented candidate will be interested in theatre education for individuals of all ages, and have participated in theatre classes as a student or teacher. Excellent communication and listening skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team is crucial, as well as a willingness to work weekends.
