Janelle has music directed over 40 shows for various theatres including The Old Creamery Theatre Company, Cornell College, the University of Iowa, and City Circle Acting Company, and over 20 shows at Theatre Cedar Rapids (including The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Les Miserables, Spring Awakening, and Next to Normal).
A private voice coach by day, she is a founding member of SPT Theatre Company, performing regularly and serving as a producer for their well-followed “Tales From the Writer’s Room” series (which, if you haven’t seen it, it is the corridor’s answer to Saturday Night Live!) She performs nationally with the touring show “Divapalooza: Rippin’ the Roof Off!” has three studio albums available on iTunes and cdbaby.com, is a Samuel French recording artist, and is music director at New Disciples Christian Church. She is thrilled to be back at her hometown theatre. “Thank you for your support of live theatre THROUGHOUT the corridor!”
Approach/Style…
My approach has always been to help performers grow through the process…..not just for the show, but for future shows as well. Every cast member should leave feeling like they learned something about themselves, about theater, or about their instrument.
Janelle joins our 19/20 season as…
- Music Director/Conductor, A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder
- Music Director/Conductor, Mamma Mia
