TCR welcomes back Alison Shafer! Alison has worked on over 100 shows, most recently directing and choreographing Six On Six The Musical, Utopia 5.0 and Caucus The Musical (Epic Stage Productions), directing Stuart Little and choreographing Elf The Musical for Quincy Community Theatre as well as directing Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka (Des Moines Playhouse) and choreographing Young Frankenstein (DSM Playhouse, Cloris Award winner for Best Choreography).
A few of her other favorite productions include: Mary Poppins, Seussical The Musical, Honk!, Cats, Chicago, The Wizard of Oz, Les Miserables, Legally Blonde, Hairspray, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Annie, and Winnie-The-Pooh (The Des Moines Playhouse); Cabaret (DMO); A Chorus Line, Joseph, Crazy For You, 42nd Street, Forever Plaid, and Hello Dolly! (Theatre Cedar Rapids); Marathon Dancing (University of Iowa and En Garde Arts, New York, NY); and Tree Wishes (Georgia Pacific Events Group, Atlanta, GA).
The first dance major at Luther College, Alison has performed with several theatres and choreographers including: Minnesota and Kentucky Operas, On The Boards (Seattle, WA) and in England and Scotland as a member of The Pat Graney Company. Alison is thrilled to be collaborating once again with TCR’s theatre community!
