Workshop Series: Telling the Story of a Song (18+)
April 6 @ 1:00 pm| $25
“Anybody Have a Map?”
Enhance storytelling in musical theatre performance through understanding of a song’s musical structure!
The STORY is the heart of every musical. The MUSIC supports and enhances the Story. Each SONG either advances the Story or gives us a deeper understanding of a character. As artists, we work hard to capture the spirit and intention of the songs we perform. Whether you’re preparing for an audition, or have already earned the role, understanding the musical elements of a song is essential to the process.
This workshop will review basic skills like breathing, posture, and presentation. Allison will work with you to create and work with a Song Map and you will work on breathing with intention and making clear choices in performance.
Teacher: Allison Holmes-Bendixen
