Insights on Lighting Design for Theater (16+)

Come learn what goes into lighting design for theater, from the nuts and bolts to broader concepts of storytelling with light, how to work with designers and directors (and vice versa!), and more. The class will hands-on reference the current lighting design plot for Elf the Musical and can help address your current and upcoming shows and issues. All experience levels welcome.
S. Benjamin Farrar is a professional lighting and scenic designer who lives in Iowa City but works all over the country and overseas, including at venues such as the Public Theatre, the Joyce and Lincoln Center in New York City. In addition to frequent design and production work at Riverside Theatre and at Grinnell College, he designed and lit TCR’s production of My Fair Lady and is the lighting designer for Elf the Musical.
