Starting 3/29/24, 7:30:00 pm: Fairview

All 9/24 and 9/25 performances at TCR postponed

Theatre Cedar Rapids

September 24, 2016 | 12:30 PM

Theatre Cedar Rapids is rescheduling all Saturday, September 24 and Sunday, September 25 performances. This is not due to our building being at risk, but because downtown is being prepared to make way for crews that are coming in to do 24/7 work in our area.

If you are a Saturday or Sunday ticket holder, we have already contacted you via email. If for some reason you do not receive the message, please call us at 319.366.8591. We look forward to assisting you in exchanging your tickets for a different date. Theatre Cedar Rapids typically follows a 24-hour exchange policy. In this case, that policy will not apply, and we will continue to exchange this weekend’s tickets until all exchanges have been handled.

A message from Executive Director, Casey Prince

Thank you TCR friends for offering to help with preparations for the flooding that is coming. Theatre Cedar Rapids is lucky to be at a relatively high elevation compared to other core districts and neighborhoods in our fair city. So I’ll suggest the same thing I did in ’08. First share your energy and talents in those areas that will be hit first and hardest. When the theatre starts to also need help, we will post on the TCR Facebook page and website. Until then, we’re excited to provide some escape and levity from our local precipitous stresses as we present Sister Act and Studio Cabaret this weekend. Taking in a show is actually a great way to help yourself and the theatre before the flood crests next week. After you’ve sandbagged for another business or helped a neighbor relocate valuables out of harms way, of course. But in all seriousness, take care of yourselves and your neighbors. And stay positive. And if you need help, ask for it – and ask questions. There are a lot of great resources walking around this town if you’re not sure how to prepare or help. We can get through this, together. Again. On with the show!

Hello!

Theatre Cedar Rapids staff is very closely monitoring all potential flood activity predicted to affect several communities in the Cedar Rapids area. At this time, we are confident that we will remain unaffected through the weekend. All performances Theatre Cedar Rapids this weekend will go on as scheduled!

If the unexpected occurs and the downtown area becomes affected before or at a higher level than anticipated, rest assured that we are prepared to take care of all of you who planned on joining us for a show in the coming weekends. Our website and Facebook pages will be updated regularly as we understand more fully how we may be affected by the impending weather concerns.

Thank you!
