Thanks, Cedar Rapids! Our remaining performances of RENT are sold out. All remaining usher spots are also filled.
If you don’t already have a ticket, though, there’s still a way to catch the show before RENT closes July 31: Super rush tickets. We promised weeks ago that we’d always make 21 seats in the front row available for $5 each the night of each show, even if the rest of the performance was sold out. We’re keeping our word!
Before each show from 5:30 to 6:30, enter your name in the lottery. At 6:45, we’ll start drawing names; each person we draw gets to buy up to 2 tickets for $5 each until they’re gone. Good luck! For questions or more info, call 366-8591.

Sure, you can get a RENT rush ticket for $12, or even try for our Super Rush lottery tickets for $5. But if you’re looking for a really great deal? See TCR’s production of RENT for free by volunteering to usher! We are in need of extra ushers for all performances, now through July 31. Want to help? Contact Kate Knutson in the box office at kate@theatrecr.org and let her know what night you’d like to sign up. Here’s more info on ushering. Hurry, because there are a limited number of spots and they fill up fast!

New to the educational programming offered by TCR are Skill Builders. These are free to the public workshops that are intended to teach new skills or improve the old skills of our volunteers. We hope that all volunteers (new and returning!) will take the chance to brush up or learn something new. The first of our Skill Builders is an “Adult Audition Workshop” (there will be a kids version offered later in the season). read more »

Some of you may remember Theatre Cedar Rapids’ Second Season. Maybe you even got to see some of the work that was produced, including I’m Not Rappaport, Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll, NOIZ, or Iowa Stories. Many have been asking, “When will it come back?” and, “I have a great idea, when will we get to do Second Season again?” read more »
