‘The Next Act’ documentary is now posted in its entirety
The Next Act, a documentary produced by TCR staff that tells the story of the flooding, rebuilding and Grand Reopening of the Iowa Theater Building, is now available to view online in its entirety for the first time.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) was a huge contributor to getting the Iowa Theater back on its feet. FEMA has now released a short video about the project, with new footage from construction and the Grand Reopening:

TCR Announces Plans for Return of Iowa Theater Building
Eight months after floodwaters did millions of dollars in damage to the Iowa Theater Building, Theatre Cedar Rapids has unveiled plans for how and when the historic structure will return. In addition to repairing flood damage, the project will give the Iowa a massive facelift, creating more space for its patrons, adding modern facilities and making the theatre lobby visible to traffic on 1st Ave. for the first time in the building’s 81-year history.
