The mission of Theatre Cedar Rapids is to provide quality theatre, maximizing community participation and education in theatre arts in Cedar Rapids and the surrounding region. In accordance with our mission, Theatre Cedar Rapids has long placed importance on the training of young performers.
Our goal has always been to provide a fun and unique theatrical experience for students who are looking for a range of benefits. Theatre classes can help shy students become more comfortable in large groups. They can provide practical public speaking skills, provide a creative outlet for kids with lots of energy, and of course, introduce children to the basics of theatre. They can also help develop an appreciation for the arts that will last a lifetime.
We think that theatre classes are not just for the kid whose lifelong dream is to be on Broadway. We hope you’ll give a class a try and see what we mean! And don’t let money stand in the way. We have scholarships available to help cover the cost of a camp or class.
