TCR announces 2011-12 Season

CEDAR RAPIDS (March 12, 2011) — Theatre Cedar Rapids has announced its lineup for the 2011-12 Season, featuring major titles like “Hairspray,” “Damn Yankees” and “A Christmas Carol” as well as intimate dramas and a festival of new work by Iowa playwrights.

Calling all Girl Scouts!

Girl Scouts are invited to spend a fun-filled day at the theatre.  Brownies will earn their “Let’s Pretend” Try-It and Juniors will earn their “Theater” badge; and both Brownies and Juniors will attend Theatre Cedar Rapids’ production of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe – with the ticket included in their registration fee!

TCR’s Underground Theatre Festival to feature all-original work by Iowa playwrights this fall

This year, we will be hosting our first annual New Play Festival in November. Playwrights may submit plays of any length — 10-minute, one act, full length, epic — for consideration, but they must be previously unproduced and unpublished. The deadline for submission is June 30 at 5 pm.
